HOW TO BUY WANNADIES COLLECTABLES
WANNADIES (SWEDEN ISSUES)
If like me, you live in the uk, the best thing to do is trawl record fairs and check ebay www.ebay.co.uk for wannadies stuff. Alot of wannadies singles are very expensive, this (i hope) will give a guide to availablilty and prices.
Smile - very very very rare. i've come across 2 copies on ebay, both over £50.
Heaven - Yet to come across Heaven, i'm not sure about availability but it seems to be even more rare than Smile interestingly.
My Hometown - I should have a copy of this, i bought one but never recieved it. It's not 'as' rare as the other two, and come out at about £20-30 roughly.
So Happy Now - There was a small rash of copies of this and 'Things i would love' about recently. the price of this varies, i got mine for £30 but somtimes it's cheaper. it's only available really (as the others) through ebay.
Things that i would love to have undone - As above, but for some reason a little more common.
Cherryman - Rare, never seen a copy anywhere other than Ebay, can be bought now and again, but i always get outbidded on it. as before, somewhere around £20-30 ish.
Love in June - sometimes available at map records for about £15-20. i have a copy, got it for £8.99, but you're not likely to get it that cheap.
How Does it Feel? - quite common, though because it's gatefold can often be in poor condition. Map records offers it, and so do a few other record shops, check amazon z-shops for it, it's often there. expect to pay around £3-8 for them.
Might Be Stars - again, not as rare, though i believe a little more rare than 'how does it feel?' still prices are not usually above £8
You and Me Song - Was quite rare, and two versions are very rare, you're most likely to find the purple version, and this is the cheapest. though because it's you and me song, it's the most sought after of wannadies songs. the first issue, with white and black cover, is about £15. the second, the purple one, is about £5-15 depending where you find it. try amazon, eil, and map. the third, was never issued, and can be quite rare, this is about £15. the records... the record for the second issue sells very rapidly, can be in excess of £20. especially on ebay. the one with 'just can't get enough' on i've only seen once, and never being sold, i can only guess it'd be more than that.
Someone Somewhere - quite common, can easily be obtained through ebay or amazon. around £3-4. the record is a little more rare, but still around £5-10.
Friends - This is the pinicle of any wanandies collection (except maybe if you've got the fantastic plastic version of Hit, or Smile) This single was never released officially, but copies float around for time to time, usually picking up between £20-40. there's a copy on amazon available for £30. The record, again, i've only seen once and not for sale, i think though, it may sell in excess of £70 if it appeared, such is the friends stigma.
Hit and Shorty - both are very common, in fact, i bought shorty cd1 straight out of virgin records. try a local second hand record shop and you'll probably find them. and of course, all the above mentioned stock them. around £3-4 One exception is the fantastic plastic version of Hit, this retails at around £40, as there were only 1000 copies made.
Yeah - common. can be found lots of places, can still be around 99p. ebay has it on almost every day.
Don't Like You - Never available in the Uk, this is strangely quite rare, i've not seen it for sale really, it'd be about £5-8 i think if it were.
Big Fan - not entirely common, few were seen around. can come up for about £4 i think.
